NCD Chairman testifies at USCCR briefing

WASHINGTON–

National Council on Disability (NCD) Chairman Andrés Gallegos participated in a panel Friday for the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights (USCCR) virtual briefing.on the civil rights implications of the federal response and impact of Hurricanes María in Puerto Rico and Harvey in Texas.<p/><p>During the public briefing, USCCR Commissioners heard from subject matter experts such as government officials, volunteer organizations, non-governmental advocates, and academics. Chairman Gallegos discussed the impact on people with disabilities.<p/><pChairman Gallegos appeared on the panel with Kira Romero-Craft, director of Southeast Region, LatinoJustice PRLDEF; Nicole Roy, Project Coordinator, Salvation Army; and Charley Willison, a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard Medical School.<p/><p>Written Testimony of Chairman Gallegos is available here.
